APPEARANCE || Katherine is a beautiful and seductive young woman with a rather exotic look. She has dark brown eyes framed by thick dark lashes which always seem to be hiding something. Long, curly brown hair falls almost to her waist and she straightens it whenever she impersonates Elena, though she doesn't do it as often anymore. She knows that she is beautiful and is not afraid to use her looks to her advantage, manipulating others by feigning interest or even love. Katherine is always dressed in the latest fashion and loves to get dressed up. Clothes have been a point of fascination for her throughout the centuries and she adores going shopping.
PERSONALITY || Katherine usually acts in whatever way she thinks is best suited to her purposes. She can act kind and caring one moment and then cold and unfeeling the next. Overall, she is cunning and manipulative, using others to get what she wants no matter the cost to them. Despite her ruthless streak, Katherine genuinely cared about the Salvatore brothers especially Stefan. She watched over him throughout the years but never revealed herself to him out of fear of Klaus. Her affections, however, do not extend to the point where she was content to let him go and she was extremely jealous of Elena. Selfish and arrogant, Katherine hated her doppelganger for 'stealing' the Salvatore brothers and for the relatively easy life she has led. Once Elena let Stefan go and moved on to Damon, Katherine became less antagonistic though she is still less than fond of the former doppelganger.
Staying one step ahead of Klaus for over five hundred years was not an easy feat and instilled in Katherine a strong sense of self-preservation. Her motto is 'Better they die than I' and she is willing to sacrifice practically anyone to stay alive. Very used to getting her way, she is surprised when anyone denies her anything and becomes all the more determined to get it. Katherine is a master of deception and lies, doing whatever she has to do in order to win. She almost always has her own agenda and practically everything that she does has an ulterior motive to it. Fond of playing games and using others as her pawns, Katherine is a dangerous enemy to have.

FAMILY HISTORY ||
Tatia Petrova- Although she's heard a little about her ancestor, Tatia Petrova, Katherine doesn't know much about her and doesn't really care to know more unless the need arises.
Kiril and Iva Petrova-Katherine had a rather complicated relationship with her parents. She absolutely adored her mother though she felt a little betrayed by her willingness to comply with her father's demands. On the other hand, Katherine's father was by no means her favorite person. Though she loved him simply because he was her father, part of her hated him for taking her daughter and for sending her to England. Despite all this, Katherine was devastated by their deaths and hates Klaus for murdering them.
Illegitimate Daughter- Katherine never got to hold her daughter and was hardly able to even glimpse her. Despite this, she grieved for the loss of her daughter, and refused to give her a name because she feared it would hurt more.
Elena Gilbert- If there's one person that Katherine hates almost as much as Klaus, it's Elena Gilbert. Not only did she steal the Salvatore brothers, but she also broke Stefan's heart, turned Katherine into a human and caused all sorts of other problems. Part of Katherine envies her double for the seemingly easy human life she had and for the affections that both Salvatores lavished upon her. Though she has so far refrained from killing Elena for the sake of the Salvatore brothers if the two were left alone, Katherine wouldn't hesitate to try and stake her.
Isobel Fleming- Isobel was one of the very few people that Katherine actually considered a friend. She trusted Isobel more than most and while she was at first angry by her betrayal, Katherine understood that there was nothing a normal vampire could have done against an Original.

HISTORY || In the late 1400s Katerina Petrova was born into a wealthy Bulgarian family. When she was around seventeen she had a daughter out of wedlock, and the ashamed family disowned her and gave the child up for adoption. Katerina was devastated and was subsequently sent to England, where she met the Lord Elijah and his younger brother Lord Niklaus in 1492. Upon discovering that Niklaus intended to use her as a sacrifice to break a curse placed upon him, she persuaded one of his men, Trevor, to assist her in her escape. He sent her to a cottage in the woods where his friend, a vampire named Rose, lived in the hopes that she would help Katerina. However, when Rose discovered that Katerina had not only escaped from Klaus but also stolen the moonstone, she decided to return her to Klaus. In retaliation, Katerina tricked Rose into feeding her vampire blood then committed suicide and drank the blood of the cottage owner, thereby completing the transition into vampire. Returning to Bulgaria, she discovered that her entire family had been brutally murdered as revenge for her escape and transformation into a vampire.
In 1864 Katerina arrived in Mystic Falls, Virginia, under the name Katherine Pierce. During her stay there she became friends with a vampire named Pearl and her daughter, Anna. She also saved the life of the witch Emily Bennett, who created a special bracelet which allowed Katherine to walk in the sun without being burned. She was taken in by Giuseppe Salvatore, claiming that she had been orphaned by a fire. There, Katherine met and fell in love with Stefan Salvatore, although she also started a relationship with his older brother, Damon. Unfortunately, Katherine created a number of new vampires during her stay, and the Founding Families became suspicious. Pearl wanted to leave immediately, but Katherine refused to go, saying that she still had something else to do. Her plan was to turn Stefan and Damon into vampires, so that the three of them could be together for eternity. As a precaution, Katherine struck a deal with George Lockwood, in return for the moonstone he would help her fake her death. Attempting to convince his father that not all vampires were evil, Stefan accidentally implied that he knew a vampire, and Giuseppe guessed that it was Katherine. He secretly fed Stefan vervain and when Katherine bit him, she was weakened enough that Giuseppe was able to capture her. Damon and Stefan attempted a rescue but both were shot and killed in the process. All of the vampires were taken to Fell's Church to be destroyed, but George Lockwood helped Katherine escape as per their deal. When the Salvatore brothers awoke, Emily told them that Katherine was trapped in the tomb beneath the church, and Damon vowed to rescue her. In reality, Katherine was free but keeping a low profile. Over the next one hundred forty six years, Katherine roamed the United States and continued tostalkkeep tabs on Stefan.
In 2010 upon learning of the escape of the tomb vampires, Katherine sent her descendant and friend, Isobel, to Mystic Falls to kill them which would prevent the possibility of Klaus finding out that she was still alive. To do so, Isobel retrieved Johnathan Gilbert's invention and gave it to John Gilbert. He used it to purge Mystic Falls of vampires, resulting in the deaths of the tomb vampires although the Salvatores survived.
Returning to Mystic Falls, Katherine's jealousy flared upon realizing that both Damon and Stefan have transferred their affections to Elena. In retaliation, she began to wreak havoc upon the town, especially once she found that she could successfully impersonate her double. After discovering just how far the Salvatores were willing to go to get rid of her, she turned Caroline Forbes into a vampire, effectively sending a message and gaining a new puppet. Using Caroline to keep Elena out of the way, Katherine visited Stefan and explained her deal with George Lockwood who was a werewolf. She also told him that, contrary to popular belief, she never compelled him to love her and that his love for her was real. After Mason Lockwood failed to retrieve the moonstone for her, Katherine decided to use Lucy, a witch, to help her obtain it. Although Lucy gave her the moonstone, she betrayed Katherine by helping the Salvatore brothers to imprison her in the tomb. After a while, she was joined by Jeremy Gilbert, who stole the moonstone and gave it to Damon, but he was soon rescued by Stefan who then kept her company for a short time. The spell that trapped vampires inside the tomb was then lifted which freed Stefan but Elijah, an Original, compelled Katherine to stay inside. Luckily, she was able to trick Damon into daggering Elijah which removed his compulsion and allowed her to escape. Instead of leaving Mystic Falls, Katherine took up residence with the Salvatore brothers, claiming that she would help them to deal with Klaus. As usual, she had a backup plan in case the Salvatores and their allies failed but it went awry when Isobel betrayed her and delivered her to Klaus. Still angry about her escape five hundred years before, he toyed with her, using his ability to compel vampires to torture her and keep her trapped in Alaric Saltzman's apartment.
A few days later, Damon gave Katherine vervain, which will prevent further compulsion, in exchange for a favor that he will collect later. When he came to collect, Katherine told him that Klaus imprisoned Caroline and Tyler on the tomb and is planning to use them in the sacrifice. She then lured Jenna Sommers out to be used as the vampire in the sacrifice as per Klaus's request, but remains stuck in the apartment throughout the breaking of the curse. When Klaus compelled her to take his blood to Damon and then to come right back, she used the opportunity to escape. Despite Stefan believing otherwise, Katherine did deliver the blood to Damon, knowing that she owed him that much.
While hiding from Klaus and his thirst for revenge, Katherine learned of the cure for vampirism and decided to obtain it herself. Impersonating Elena, she was able to get close enough to Jeremy Gilbert to use him to raise Silas. She was then able to steal the unguarded cure and disappear once more, hoping that she could use the cure as a bargaining chip. But before she could do much more than hide, Elena and Rebekah tracked her down and turned Elijah, her newestplaythingally, against her. Furious, Katherine plotted to kill Elena and be rid of the nuisance once and for all but her doppelganger managed to force the cure into her, turning her human. The transformation horrified Katherine but even without compulsion she can be persuasive and she was able to convince another vampire to turn her again.
Deciding to steer clear of the Salvatores, Elena, and their friends, Katherine made her way to Europe. Over the next hundred years, she traveled across the continent though she was careful to stay away from England and Bulgaria and the bad memories associated with those countries. Continuing her exploration, Katherine ventured across the globe and sired quite a few vampires during those hundred fifty years. Of all of her new 'friends', her favorites were William Highsmith and Elise King, the three of them stuck together for the next hundred years before splitting when Katherine returned to the States. Upon her arrival, she checked up on Stefan and was both irritated and unsurprised to find that Elena was living with the brothers. She continued to keep an eye on the three, however, she never made any move to confront them, even going out of her way to remain undetected. Recently though, Katherine has become rather bored with staying incognito and a bored Katherine never ends well.
YOUR ALIAS || Ginny
AGE || Sixteen
RP EXPERIENCE || Approximately two years
RP SAMPLE || Katherine glanced around the small cafe, careful to keep a watchful eye out for any Mikaelson or Salvatore that might see fit to attack her. She couldn't really see any of them tracking her all the way up to Wisconsin but you could never be too careful. Her cautious attitude when it came to her own life and her flippant attitude towards others were what had kept her alive to this point and she saw no reason to let her guard down now. Especially since she was currently in possession of the cure that everyone seemed so desperate to get their hands on. She could understand the Salvatore brothers' interest in it, they were willing to do anything for their precious Elena. Klaus probably wanted his doppelganger back so that he could continue to make hybrids.
Idly stirring the coffee in front her, Katherine weighed her options. On one hand, giving the cure to Klaus might very well buy her freedom, something that she wanted more than anything. But on the other hand, giving him the cure meant more hybrids which he might send to kill her if he didn't consider the cure to be ample payment. She would have to make a decision, and soon because it was highly unlikely that they had simply given up once it was revealed that she had the cure. But the injuries that Elena's brother had most likely sustained, if Silas hadn't just killed him, would slow down the Salvatores and their allies for a while. Standing suddenly, Katherine slung her bag over her shoulder and made her way to the exit, time to move to a safer location then decide on her next move there. She needed time to work out a plan that would give her the best advantage in the fight that was sure to come.
